This aspect of the de la Warr Pavilion
building in Bexhill on Sea is very impressive.
The shape, design, colour, glass and
staircase gives a feeling of the grandeur of
the 1930's. It is the UK's first public
building - built in the modernist style. Made
of concrete and steel rather than bricks
and mortar, it's structure lends itself to
creative and cultural activites and
spectacular views.
